KS-6 Gyro Stabilizer

The Commander

Kenyon Laboratories has been building the Kenyon Gyro Stabilizer for almost fifty years. Initially designed to keep binoculars steadily on target from a pitching ship, the units are also now used for medium format cameras, cinematographers and even NASA.
Using the Gyro Stabilizer on a camera, one can obtain clear crisp shots from unusual situations, from a plane or helicopter our units will dampen out the motor and rotor vibration. When shooting at low light levels one can get large format pictures with slower shutter speeds or slower film , without the encumbrance of a tripod.
We build four different sizes of gyros, all relating to the weight of the equipment to be stabilized.
When the tripod is unacceptable, and handheld is blurry, our invisible tripod makes the job much easier, with much less waste of film, and a much greater success rate.

This precision instrument increases the effectiveness of handheld photo-film- and videocameras by stabilizing against pitch and yaw motions thus minimizing hand tremor, vehicular vibrations and other disturbing movements.

The Kenyon Gyros are very helpfull for "car to car photography", helicopter- motorbike- and boat-shootings.

To get the most out of your stabilized camera, relax and let the instrument do the work. Hold the camera lightly and move it slowly - about the speed at which you would pass a full glass of water. The panning rate is 20-30 degrees per second.

Even if your camera has a build in stabilizer, the increase of picture quality by using ( aditional or alternative ) a Kenyon stabilizer will be very visible.
